How to Get
a CapTel Phone

Tennessee CapTel offers three options for getting
a CapTel phone.

Option 1:

Request a traditional 
CapTel 840 at no cost

Qualified users can get a CapTel 840 phone at no cost through the Telecommunications Devices Access Program (TDAP), unless otherwise appointed or approved.

Option 2:

Request an Internet-based CapTel phone at no cost

Get a free internet-based CapTel phone with a third party certification form signed by your hearing health care professional (doctor, hearing aid dispenser or audiologist).  

Instructions are included on this form.

The internet-based CapTel models are:  840i, 880i and 2400i.

Option 3:

Purchase an Internet-based CapTel phone for $75

Tennessee residents who do not qualify for a CapTel phone through the Telecommunications Devices Access Program (TDAP) may purchase any internet-based model of CapTel phone.

The internet-based CapTel models are:  840i, 880i and 2400i.
